Maintaining security of data and computer infrastructure is of great importance for every company to avoid data breaching and phishing. Phishing can be defined as a fraudulent activity of sending emails to retrieve personal information and installing viruses and malware to recipients’ computers where the sender alleges to be from respected companies.
The best way to prevent these types of events is by making employees aware of computer security to handle situations themselves.

1. The employees should be trained not to divulge company’s information until they can identify the caller so that they can avoid giving information to strangers. The employees should also make sure to not share all their contact information on social platforms which can all together minimize data and security breach.
2. The employees should also make sure that the computer is protected with anti-virus and anti-spyware software’s. They should also keep their passwords cryptic and not personal, so that it becomes hard to guess and frequently changing it.
3. Do not save any paper, document or soft copies which have sensitive information about company or employees and should be deleted/disposed.
4. The company should have firewall installed to monitor inbound and outbound activities which can reduce the chances of any cyber-attack as it will implement security protocols within the network.

In situations like these prevention is cure, so if employee’s follow the measures, dispose/shred the paperwork, not share their information to unidentified callers then we can contain such events. Companies should see to it that employees follow these guidelines, provide training's to ensure changes in data security, keep their device locked when not operating and don’t share passwords/personal information or company’s information with anyone.
