Information systems infrastructure has seen increasing change in technology; it has gone through a rapid rate of evolution. In the 1960s evolution started from mainframes to today’s world of variety of laptops, computers, and phones with individual identity recognition, voice commands, and so on. It has completely changed the face of systems infrastructure in terms of size, features, processing, and speed, systems around have become completely depended on the computer these days; the information systems can perform various tasks, are integrated systems that have provided efficiency to help business in performing tasks.

While researching some articles, I found similarity in both in terms of how technology has revolutionized provided optimized tools and techniques to perform task and activities efficiently, it has also improved and progressed management activities by implementing better information systems. Endeavors that have been in the inclination to utilize the frameworks that have developed rapidly. The articles had various points providing justification as well to the information it mentioned which is relevant to information systems evolution; the changing and updating trends in the matter because systems have improved as artificial intelligence came into the picture, as it helps with business execution and performance. It has been empowered by simulation and modeling strategies that can be implemented on systems utilizing data that is available from the databases. Trends in information systems are necessary as well as expected. The growth development for changes in programming as well as information systems improvement will provide help for emerging future trends.

With technology emerging so rapidly such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, mobile application and software, user interface applications, and systems & analytics that help to find patterns in a large amount of data. “Recently, the information systems for company management are continually evolving, and the foresee trends include both technical and functional improvements. In the functional trend, it will be incorporating new features, and also it will improve and optimize current features as the SCM, PLM (Product Lifecycle Management), CRM (Customer Relationship Management), DW (Data Warehouse), BSC (Balanced Scorecard), KMS (Knowledge Management System), BI (Business Intelligence), POS (Point of Sale), etc.” These technologies have changed and revolutionized the system and business activities as they are completely imbibed in our everyday lives.

With the rapidly changing technology and its effect on everyday lives, the trends keep changing quickly and have the benefit to information technology. Risk management should be in place and proper protocols need to be followed in order to maintain information systems as it provides the security of the critical information and provides a secure plan to deal with issues that may arise due to breaches and will help to enforce risk management steps. These days organizations dealing with secure information are providing training to employees and have it mandate training for new employees to make risk management an everyday protocol that needs to be followed while working on tasks that use information systems.

Conclusion

The evolution of computers and how far it has come can be seen by its presence in our everyday activities. We have seen a change in trends of personal computers as it has integrated various systems and provides tools that can perform more tasks to increase efficiency and improved business systems. The change in trends and evolution of management information systems not only change information systems but tools and metrics that are associated and used with it. It has changed the way data is accessed, how it's stored, and managed; as mentioned in your discussion. Due to change in trends data warehousing has become a big issue as installing and spacing requires a lot of infrastructure and companies providing ample online data storage services has increased the need. The need to analyze the impact of changes in Information Systems is not only important for its sustainability but also for its governance and business of companies, we need to identify risks and hurdles with its evolution to enable smoother transitions.
